Workshop on 'Education in Emergencies'
Workshop on " Education in Emergencies and INEE Minimum Standards" will be held on 1st of April 2010 ( Thursday) from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm at Devknow Auditorium, No: 42/9, Rosmead Place, Colombo 7. This workshop will be aimed at Officers of the Government, NGO Sector, University Academics and Researches who are working or interested in the field of Education & Disaster Management. Community Conservation of Indigenous Orchids in Sri Lanka Project
Worldview Sri Lanka has taken various steps to expand one of its Environment Projects titled "Community Conservation of Indigenous Orchids in Sri Lanka" under its MDG Community Development Initiative. Dr. Max Hansson from Kalstad University, Sweden recently visited one of Worldview Project Sites in Sri Lanka. He had discussed with Worldview Sri Lanka Project Team on various aspects on improving and expanding this as a conservation project protecting the bio diversity while exploring the possibility of improving the community income . Project Team says the litrature such as " Orchids of Sri Lanka, A Conservationist's Comapnaion" by Malik Fernanado, Siril Wijesundara and Suranjan Fernando published by IUCN ( The World Consevation Union) is very useful to them in implementing this voluntary project. Mr. Kithsiri Rajapakse who had done a Project for his Advance level in school on Orchid Cultivation is coordinating this project on voluntary basis for this Worldview MDG ( Millenium Development Goals) Community Development Initiative
Workshop on reporting 'Education in Emergencies'
Worldview Sri Lanka is organizing a workshop for local journalists on reporting on 'Education in Emergencies' on March 09. The workshop will take place from 9.00 am to 1.30 pm at Devknow auditorium, No: 42/9, Rosmead Place, Colombo. The workshop will be open for a limited number of journalists and the participants will be provided with workshop kit and a certificate, organizers said.
